If you are looking for a great place to take a quite, laid back vacation, in a warm sunny climate, then Mojacar is the place for you. The sandy beaches and simple charms are all protected to ensure that the city is not ruined by big business and corporations buying up the land. This makes it a great place for those who are looking for a traditional atmosphere, with real people, without the fake resort feel.

The Spanish region of Almeria contains this beautiful city. A seemingly white mountain will appear before you as you travel towards the city, almost as though it was covered in snow. This is due to the white washed houses that are held closely to the side of the cliffs. The mountains of Sierra Cabrera and the crystal clear waters of the sea squeeze the houses together. This is why Mojacar is the most celebrated attraction for tourists in the Southern corner of Spain.

The history of this great culture is well kept by the citizens of the area. If you plan on visiting the area you will do well to know something about it before visiting. The Arabians were the first noted inhabitants of the area. They named in Munsaqar and spent hundreds of years fighting the Christian armies over the right to live in the area. There remain many historical artifacts and architecture that have stood the test of time.

In the fifteenth century Spain reclaimed the area led by King Ferdinand. Some of the Arabians architecture has been preserved and today is being protected by law. One of these preserved pieces of architecture is the Moorish fortress, which brings the visitor in to the environment the Arabs existed in after their travels from Africa.

In memory of the Arabian-Christian struggle that took place in the area a huge fiesta is held every year. Mock battles fought with fake swords, fantastic outfits, and enormous cigars are all used to better remember the struggle that happened there, as well as throw a swell party.

Mojacar’s natural beauty is protected by several restrictions on building construction. All hotels must be limited to four floors in height. Residential buildings are restricted to being no higher than two stories tall. Mojacar’s beach stretches to seventeen kilometers, only seven of which has been tampered with by development. The remaining ten kilometers remains natural and un tampered for the people enjoyment.

Restrictions have been put in place in several different fashions to ensure that Mojacar’s beauty is not over taken by big buildings and big business. Hotels can reach no higher than four floors tall, and residential buildings can only reach up to two stories. The beach stretches to a length of seventeen kilometers. Only seven kilometers or that seventeen are developed what so ever. This leaves the remaining ten kilometers natural and not to be tampered with.

Mojacar is a breathtaking place that will have you planning a new trip as soon as you return home. This wonderful tradition and great beauty will not be spoiled any time to come soon.

Spain is famous for its golf holidays and the Costa Blanca is no exception. Situated north of the Costa de Almeria, the Costa Blanca has some great golf courses and this article focuses on the areas around Benidorm.

by Jerry Blackburn

The Costa Blanca is a very beautiful area which is extremely popular with tourists. If you enjoy going on holiday then you will certainly enjoy visiting this area.

The Costa Blanca is located on the Mediterranean sea and is within the Alicante Province. Costa Blanca actually means "The White Coast" when translated, and is probably because of the beautiful white beaches. The area benefits from amazing sunny weather and white washed buildings. This creates a wonderful environment which is stunning.

Alicante is a very popular location because it is so conveniently located close to the large international airport of Altet. This means that it is very convenient for tourists to visit the area. You can get to this city fairly easily by taking a public bus, mini bus, taxi, or hire car you will see how easy it can be to get around. The Santa Barbara Castle is still standing, this was constructed in 300BC and is still standing. This still remains in very good condition and has a very nice restaurant. This castle has a number of beautiful sandy beaches surrounding it, which can make it a wonderful walking holiday. The beaches have lots of flowers and palms planted around, which makes it a beautiful environment.

Walking around is quite probably the best way to see the sights, if you walk along the central walkway then you will find a number of crafts people who sell handmade gifts from booths. During the summer months you will also find a number of orchestras playing beautiful soothing music in the park, this is a great way to relax and unwind. You may also consider taking a golf holiday in Costa Blanca.

The best way to find information about Alicante is to get a guide book about the area. There are many festivals which are held at different times of the year, there is a bonfire festival which burns wooden characters. This is an ancient tradition which has been carried out in order to rid the area of bad spirits.

Benidorm is a very large city in the Alicante province within easy reach of the Alicante airport. This city has a number of different options available, during the day you can relax, and during the night there are plenty of things to do.

There are also a number of more exciting activities which you can do, such as visiting one of the many theme parks, like Terra Mitica. This has many rides and attractions suitable for children of all ages. There are also some water parks which can make the holiday even more enjoyable for children. You may also consider taking a golf holiday in Costa Blanca.

If your children are into animals then you should consider checking out the Terra Natura which is in Benidorm. This has many different types of animals which you can look at up close. The night life in these areas is also very vivid if you are into clubs and pubs, then there is plenty to satisfy you!

Here is a great article on one of the best ways to learn Spanish quickly…

by Rick Grey

Trying to learn Spanish without being able to talk to native speakers is difficult. Learning the language from teachers whose native language is English is fine, but they are unable to give you the in-depth experience of the language that you would get by speaking Spanish with Spanish people.

Immersion study is about living amongst native speakers of a language, in this case Spanish. You find yourself in a situation where you are obliged to communicate in the local language. Your business and social life will both be dependant on that language.

The fact is that it pays dividends to learn like this because you are forced to use Spanish at all times and consequently you will learn much faster. If you want to know what is going on round about you, you have little choice but to learn Spanish fast. Your motivation will be high.

Living under these circumstances means that you will tune in to many nuances of the language every day. You will find that you are learning Spanish in very much the same way as you learned English as a child.

You will imitate the way those around you speak. You will intuit the meanings of words and phrases by the way they are used. As you go through the days, you will gain knowledge of social language and customs. Learn Spanish this way and you will remember it for life.

If you have a tutor at this time, you can greatly enhance your learning experience, because you will be able to ask them to clarify all the points about which you are uncertain and to clear up any misconceptions you might have.

If you wish to undertake a period of immersion study, you can easily arrange it for yourself. arrange to go and live in a Spanish speaking district, or country, find a local tutor to work with you, get out and mix with the locals, and the rest will happen naturally.

Another way to do it is through one of the many companies who specialise in this sort of experience. They will make all the arrangements for you including accommodation, and possibly even living with a Spanish family.

This is total immersion in the language and culture of the country. You will be in a position where you are making polite dinner conversation over every meal. You will be included in invitations to social functions that you might otherwise have missed. You might learn Spanish during your time inside the home in an informal way that you would never have thought possible.

Universities and colleges also offer immersion studies for students. It doesn’t matter if you are a young student or someone going back to school. You can take a semester abroad to learn Spanish through one of their programs.

Foreign exchange students have benefited from immersion studies for a long time, now this excellent method of accelerated learning is available to all.

Scuba diving is an enjoyable sport that will take you into a beautiful world of freedom. It is a healthy sport that not only requires one to be in good fitness, it also requires a clear, mind. There are many simple things to remember when scuba diving.

Here are a some scuba diving basics.

Is it for you?

Scuba diving is not for everyone. You need to be comfortable in the water. It requires a fit swimmer with the confidence into the ocean or lake. Competent scuba divers should be able to swim a minimum of 200 yards, continuously and be able to tread water for 10 minutes plus a complete a float exercise. A medical consultation should also be done before starting as the water put extra pressure on the body.

Getting Certified

All divers should complete proper diving certification. This cert is obtained by completing a certified scuba course taught by a suitably qualified instructor. Many students can earn this qualification in as little as 24 hours. Others will take a longer class. The class is a precaution as it will arm you on how to react in different situations..

Scuba Diving Basic #3: The Equipment

You will always want to check and maintain your scuba diving gear in a workable condition. Make sure you buy all of the needed accessories and equipment before your dive such as weights, knives, fins, masks, regulators, and other pieces of equipment.

Wash and care for your wet suit as suggested by the manufacturer.

Know the Basic Language of Diving

When diving, A diver will need to know hand signals and sign language to communicate effectively underwater. You must know these signs and practice with your diving buddy’s before getting in the water. A swimming pool is a good place to start applying them.

Know and understand the scuba terminology and its uses. Study regularly and keep up to date on new techniques and the rules and regulations.

Knowing the basic scuba diving information will help you have a safer and enjoyable dive trip. You should review these areas frequently and always keep up with the latest changes with the rules and new skills. This is for your own safety and the safety of others. It is a lot easier to learn on dry land than it is in 40 ft of water!

As well as you and your family spending time on the beach and taking a swim in the cool seas surrounding the island there are other things that one can do to keep you amused. But you need to be aware if you are looking for a holiday, which has plenty of sightseeing attractions then this is not the island for you. In fact, many people prefer to spend time here so that they can forget about the stresses and strains of modern living.

Yet although most people will spend time on the beach, there are a few attractions that you and your family can enjoy during your stay. In this article, we look at what the main attractions are.

1. Xoriguer Distillery – This is one for the adults in the group and is located down at the harbour front. Along with a tour of the facility, you can even sample a few of the drinks which are made here including Menorca gin which is known as "Mahon" and which can be purchased from the shop situated at the distillery as well.

2. Cales Coves – These are located a short distance from Mahon and can be reached by catching a bus. Once there you have the choice of either taking one of the guided tours or if you are feeling a little more adventurous exploring them on your own. If you choose the latter option, you will need to make sure that you have a flashlight with you.

3. ES Freginal Park – Located in the very heart of Mahon this park offers plenty of space for you and the kids to enjoy. Moreover, it is here on the stage that the annual Summer Jazz Festival takes place as well.

4. Los Delfines Aquapark – However, if you want the family to have a fun packed day together then a visit to this attraction is a must. Situated in 12,500 square metres of land this park offers a number of different water-based activities that the whole family can enjoy. Along with Adventure River, Hydrotubes and Giant Toboggan for those who are a little braver than the rest they could have a go on the Black Hole.

Above we have offered you details of a few of the main attractions to be found on the Island of Menorca. When it comes to booking any kind of Menorca holiday homes for a visit to this island it is advisable that you book it well in advance and choose somewhere that is within easy distance of all the attractions.

When you are trying to decide which of the various holiday apartments in the Balearics that you would like to stay in during your vacation, you will find that these islands off the coast of Spain have numerous choices available to you. Certainly, some people prefer to stay in those that enable to relax and unwind, whilst others prefer to enjoy the nightlife that is found on Ibiza.

When it comes to actually finding your ideal accommodation when holidaying on one of these islands then the best place to start your search is online. But it is important that if you choose this way of booking your accommodation, you take your time and do some research before hand.

Along with booking accommodation directly with the owners of the property, there are plenty of companies that are able to provide you with such facilities as well. By booking through these companies, you are offered a little more security and assistance in order to find the perfect rental property for you. When you do decide to book accommodation through such companies there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration, below we look at what some of these are.

Firstly when booking through these companies you will be required to pay a deposit. This money is usually around 30% of the total rental price of the accommodation and confirms the reservation that you have made. But be aware that should you need to cancel for any reason some companies may not return the deposit or may return only part of it.

However, if you would like to prevent such occurrences then it is a good idea to take out the company’s cancellation protection scheme if they have one. This then means that should you need to cancel for any reason you will get the total monies that you have paid returned to you in full. Normally you will be expected to pay a fee of around of 5% of the cost of your accommodation for this protection.

Although most companies will advertise their rental rates using one particular form of currency, many are more than willing for clients to pay using the currency where they live. But be wary when doing this as the currency exchange rate at the time of booking can seriously effect just how much or little you pay for the accommodation you are booking.

Most people when using the internet to book accommodation for their vacation will pay for it by credit card and this not only saves them time but offers them security as well. But be warned when booking your accommodation and the rate of exchange is high you may find yourself paying considerably more for your accommodation that you would have expected. Therefore, check out the rates of exchange prior to making the booking and see if there are any other ways you can pay and which will prevent you paying over the odds for your accommodation.

As well as the above mentioned items there are other factors which need to be taken into consideration and which will affect how much you pay for holiday apartments in the Balearics. Certainly, if you intend to be visiting Ibiza at the height of the summer season then you will have to pay considerably more than, if you were to visit it during the winter or spring months.

What You Should Know to Protect Yourself When Traveling Abroad: by Ashley King

Few things compare to visiting new places and experiencing a different culture. But if you don’t take a few precautions, there might be a high price to pay for your adventure. Overseas travel can be an ordeal if you don’t follow some basic safety rules. Keep these tips in mind if you’re planning a trip to a foreign country.

1. See what the weather is going to be where you are going. Arrange for the probability of plane delays. If the weather predicts particularly bad storms or a hurricane, you should delay your trip. You do not want to spend your vacation time stranded due to bad weather.

2. Run a security check. Learn about the political situation of your destination country. Is there trouble brewing that could result in conflict and hostilities? You won’t want to get stuck in a foreign land in the midst of fighting and pandemonium.

3. Study the local customs of the land you’re preparing to visit. Each country has its own distinct culture. Don’t make the mistake of presuming that the local citizens will put up with your standards and values, or even know what they are. You may end up upsetting somebody with what you consider to be ordinary conduct, and this might lead them to strike back. Be as familiar as possible with local traditions before departing on your journey.

4. Learn the lingo. Study the local language and learn as many phrases as you can. It’s easier to take advantage of the dumb tourist who doesn’t have a clue what’s being said. It will also cut down on any mix-ups that could lead to a confrontation.

5. Make sure your health insurance will cover you in the country you are visiting. Do not assume anything. If they do cover you anywhere, make sure of what they will pay and what they will not.

6. Choose touristy accommodations. A hotel in the tourist district is a safer bet because it will probably have superior security measures in place. If you’re out sightseeing, stay within the tourist zone or you’ll be a target for the less savory local residents. Otherwise, hire a reliable guide to show you the parts of town that are more authentic. Don’t wander off on you own.

7. Try not to broadcast the fact that you’re a tourist. Your clothing should fit in with the local crowd. If you’ve rented a car, stay away from the showy models. This will only advertise the fact that you’re a visitor and you will be more likely to draw unwanted and unpleasant attention.

Overseas travel can be a rewarding experience. Just play it safe and take the appropriate preventative measures before you leave. Stay on your toes during your journey, respect the local culture and don’t cause offense to anyone. You’ll be welcomed more warmly and will have nothing but pleasant memories on your return.

About 45 miles northeast of Alicante you will find Benidorm, Spain. The area is made for tourists with a variety of hotel offerings, nightlife activities and miles and miles of perfect beaches.

The weather is mild in the winter, thanks to mountains surrounding the area, but can be hot during the long summer days. Tourists count on this and flock to the beaches in the summertime.

Traveling to Benidorm Spain: Tips

Getting into the city is easiest for those who fly into the Alicante airport. From the airport a traveler can choose a bus, rail, or to find a car hire company to get a vehicle to make their way to Benidorm. If you want to save some money, the buses may be the best option. They have a number of routes from the airport to the city and are not too much of an inconvenience. If you would prefer being your own transportation, many of the car hire companies actually operate out of Benidorm, but they will pick you up at the airport to get you to your vehicle

When making the decision of which travel option to choose, there are a few things to take into account. If you are the kind of person who wants to do a lot of sightseeing, you may want to get your own vehicle so you can travel when you want to at your own pace. This also gives you the flexibility to travel to sightsee in other nearby cities. If most of your time will be spent in one area, you may want to use public transportation when you have to get around.

There is a little of something for every member of your party when you visit Benidorm. For families with kids, there are theme parks and other family-friendly attractions. Of course, there are many beaches to choose from. And for those who want to escape at night, there is a very lively nightlife in Benidorm. Even golfers have a number of great courses to choose from during their holiday in the city.

If you are heading to the beach, there are three main beaches to choose from. First is The Playa de Levante. While this is a quite secluded beach, it is still active. Usually younger people and singles are on this beach since it is a topless beach. The second beach, which is in a busier section of the city, is the Playa de Poniente. Those at this beach tend to be older visitors and families. In the middle of these two is a smaller beach called Playa Mai Pas.

If you have a car with you, you can’t use it on the main street on the beach. This is a walking only area as is the city square. This adds to the enchantment as you and all the others in town walk along and take in the scenery, and a meal or two from some of the local eateries. If you stay out wandering long enough you may come across a busy dance club or bar as the nightlife gets into full swing.

No matter what you do or where you go, you should always bring a camera with you. You will want to make sure that you keep your memories alive and well with a hard copy of your vacation fun. You may find that once you look over your photographs after you come back from the cruise weeks, months, or even years later, you will still be able to recall everything that you did on the trip (many details that you had forgotten). To make your pictures even better, you will find that you will want to use light and angles to make your amateur pictures look more like professional ones.

First, you will want to keep in mind that you are on vacation and you don’t always have to take a picture to try to capture each and every moment. You also don’t want the same pictures being taken either. There is a lot of things that you will do on and off the ship. Take some pictures of the moments that you are enjoying yourself and capture some rare moments as well. You may even want to take your picture standing on deck with a beautiful sunset as the background. You may want to take some pictures when at dinner to remember all the wonderful people that you meet there. You may not want to have all the pictures posed either. You can take a great, silly photo when you capture a true moment that wasn’t posed. You will find that when you let loose with the camera, you can enjoy the cruise.

Also, when you are taking pictures of just the ship or the environment that the ship is sailing, you will want to make sure that you take enough pictures that will allow you to remember all the good times. You may want to take pictures of the ocean, the sky, the cabin, the crew, and even a picture with the captain. This way you not only have pictures of all the fun moments, but all of the ship and your surroundings. Don’t forget to get the ship name too, because it could be an important memory that you forget later. In fact, when you are taking your snapshots you will want to think about the objects in the picture and the way that you angle them so that you can get the best pictures. You will want to make sure that you take pictures that are going to be useful in helping to remember the good times and how nice the cruise was in general.

However, you really don’t want to overdo it. You don’t need to get tons of professional equipment. You will only need the professional equipment unless you plan to enter it in some contest. You don’t have to make something like this hard to enjoy, but if you think about all the pictures and memories that you would like to keep and the way that you angle the objects in the picture in mind, you’ll be able to relax and have a great time on the cruise.
