Benidorm Spain Tips

by Johnathan Bakers

About 45 miles northeast of Alicante you will find Benidorm, Spain. The area is made for tourists with a variety of hotel offerings, nightlife activities and miles and miles of perfect beaches.

The weather is mild in the winter, thanks to mountains surrounding the area, but can be hot during the long summer days. Tourists count on this and flock to the beaches in the summertime.

Traveling to Benidorm Spain: Tips

Getting into the city is easiest for those who fly into the Alicante airport. From the airport a traveler can choose a bus, rail, or to find a car hire company to get a vehicle to make their way to Benidorm. If you want to save some money, the buses may be the best option. They have a number of routes from the airport to the city and are not too much of an inconvenience. If you would prefer being your own transportation, many of the car hire companies actually operate out of Benidorm, but they will pick you up at the airport to get you to your vehicle

When making the decision of which travel option to choose, there are a few things to take into account. If you are the kind of person who wants to do a lot of sightseeing, you may want to get your own vehicle so you can travel when you want to at your own pace. This also gives you the flexibility to travel to sightsee in other nearby cities. If most of your time will be spent in one area, you may want to use public transportation when you have to get around.

There is a little of something for every member of your party when you visit Benidorm. For families with kids, there are theme parks and other family-friendly attractions. Of course, there are many beaches to choose from. And for those who want to escape at night, there is a very lively nightlife in Benidorm. Even golfers have a number of great courses to choose from during their holiday in the city.

If you are heading to the beach, there are three main beaches to choose from. First is The Playa de Levante. While this is a quite secluded beach, it is still active. Usually younger people and singles are on this beach since it is a topless beach. The second beach, which is in a busier section of the city, is the Playa de Poniente. Those at this beach tend to be older visitors and families. In the middle of these two is a smaller beach called Playa Mai Pas.

If you have a car with you, you can’t use it on the main street on the beach. This is a walking only area as is the city square. This adds to the enchantment as you and all the others in town walk along and take in the scenery, and a meal or two from some of the local eateries. If you stay out wandering long enough you may come across a busy dance club or bar as the nightlife gets into full swing.
